Financial Aid Scholarship Information
Hello, Beverly High School Seniors and Guardians!
As many of you are likely aware, seniors are able to begin applying to scholarships in order to reduce the load of student loans. Many,however, do not know that there are many places and ways to apply for the best chances of earning a scholarship! Your student is able to apply through the school to both Naviance, and the Beverly Dollars for Scholars,however there are many more scholarships to look into. Following shall be a guide for applying to either of the above scholarship programs, as well as several more.
Scholarships are a financial aid given to students seeking secondary education, and are becoming more of a necessity with student loans growing quickly.Scholarships vary in amounts or criteria, with many scholarships requiring minimum grades or financial need. Some scholarships are even able to waive a student’s tuition for UMASS schools (See the John andAbigail Adams scholarship.) Though some may not be valued as high as others, any contribution is enough to help lessen the load of student debt.
Students should be aware that not all scholarships are a one-time payment. Some scholarship programs offer renewable scholarships for various lengths,typically recurring at the end of a year. Most renewable scholarships tend to last two to four years, though some may vary. One scholarship,available to students already past their freshmen year in college,increases in value with each subsequent year (The Dream Scholarship byScholarship America.)

It is very important that each student planning to go to secondary school does his or her best to receive as many scholarships as is necessary,and it can not be stressed enough that they help immensely throughout a student’s entire career. Because of such, any parents or guardians should urge their students to apply to as many scholarships as possible.It is recommended that those new to application for scholarships look at the following sources!
